I've added this page to Bills AMC site to explain a problem on his new Jeep
We we're having an Electrical ignition problem. Truck would start and run, but no power to any components such as heater and wipers.
This is the piece that was found to be junk
It is the ignition control switch. Bought the new one from Chevy dealer.. Part # 1990116
This is actually the new one back on the column
Only way to get to it is to remove the bottom valance and then drop the steering wheel. If you pull the instrument cluster it helps you get some light in there to see whats goin on. It is way inside there. Small hands and lots of paitence
Also mounted to the same anchor points is the headlight flash switch. Remember how you take each out, in what order.they were stacked.
The 2 wire clusters will plug into the sockets from the passenger side. Actually Bill told me they should go in BEFORE you mount the switch to the column.
Here's a great shot of Prarie Fire in the washout
See what running too many accessories did to this connector. You should have seen the power wire. FRIED
Notice the curve of the bracket? This will rest on the column tube, with the sockets pointed right
Now those are Canadian bucks, so about .95 US should cover the part.
This was the Dec Christmas Tree Run
The Wee Zuki had no problem on the narrow bridge
OOPS!
However the heavy weights needed some balast from the big guy.
The first stuck of the day was when the Tracker fell off the bridge
ME EMBARASSED! NO WAY IT WAS AN EXPERENCE GAINING EVENT
100 METERS AFTER THE BRIDGE, TONY GOT TO SHOW HIS GAS MIXING EXPERTISE
EVEN A SIMPLE STREAM IN WINTER IS TRICKY

FRONT "AND REAR" LOCKERS? NO PROB-LEM-O
